FSCA Recognised Qualifications (FAIS)

The FSCA’s official recognised qualification lists are often hard to access when their links break (classic). We’ve republished the structured lists from FSCA FAIS Notice 37 of 2025 so you can search, verify and compare faster.

Important: This is a convenience reference. Always confirm your role scope and Fit & Proper requirements with your compliance function.

How to check if your qualification is recognised

Step 1: Get the right details
  • Exact qualification title (as printed on your certificate)
  • Institution/provider name
  • SAQA ID (best), NQF level and credits (if available)
Step 2: Use search properly
  • Search by SAQA ID first (most accurate)
  • If no SAQA ID, search by a unique keyword from the title
  • Confirm the institution + NQF/credits to avoid wrong matches
Reality check: A listed qualification is one piece of the Fit & Proper puzzle. Your role, product scope and class of business requirements still matter.

FAQ: FSCA recognised qualifications

Answers to the questions people ask right before they panic-message compliance.

If my qualification is listed, does that mean I’m automatically approved?
No. Listing means it appears on the FSCA recognised list, but your role, product scope, class of business and your FSP’s Fit & Proper process still apply.
What’s the best way to search the list?
Use SAQA ID first. If you don’t have it, search by a unique keyword from the qualification title, then confirm the institution and NQF/credits.
My qualification title looks similar, but not identical. What now?
Similar is not equal. Match the exact entry: title + institution + SAQA ID (or NQF/credits where shown). If unsure, ask your compliance function to verify.
What are “specified subjects/modules/unit standards” lists?
Some recognition depends on specific subjects or unit standards. In those cases your transcript matters, not just the qualification name.
What does “transitional period” mean?
The FSCA defines a transitional period in the Schedule. Transitional lists apply in specific historical contexts, so confirm how your FSP interprets it for your file.
Why is this content on RE5.co.za and not the FSCA site?
Because official links break and people still need answers. This is a convenience republication for searchability. Official verification remains your responsibility.
Tip: Add an on-page search box (TablePress/WPDataTables does this) so users can find their qualification in seconds.
